Submission Guidelines
The convention committee is seeking experienced speakers and professionals in housing, education, health, transportation, economic and community development, and the environment to lead 12 75-minute break-out sessions. In each session, the presenter will give an overview of the topic, lead a conversation among participants, and arrive at a vision statement(s) that will help inform the Governor-Elect’s future administration.
The committee is particularly interested in topics and proposals that address: - Innovative approaches to promoting and achieving equitable, affordable housing options for all, including but not limited to: housing for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and rural communities. Approaches should include strategies that recognize the dynamic housing environment and respond in a way that challenges traditional implementation and policies around affordable housing.
- Strategies for supporting existing communities. What policies and practices will be needed to support those communities and regions that have been most impacted by foreclosure and the housing and economic crises?
- Proposals for aligning investments in affordable housing with investments in the environment, education, transportation, health, and jobs and economic development to create sustainable communities.
- Other proposals related to the conference goals and overall themes of believe, connect, and create are encouraged. We are specifically looking for presentations that are interactive and engaging—keeping participants engaged and increasing retention of material. Please note your plans to incorporate group discussion, group exercises, case studies, or other audience participation.
The online format requires the following: - Presenter name(s), contact information, title, and bio(s).
